75th Carnival update

Drop into the Carnival…

Join the Falcons and drop into the 75th Aldeburgh Carnival!

RAF Falcons Stack

One of this year’s highlights will be a free-fall para drop by the famous Royal Air Force Falcons Parachute Display Team.  They will be targeting the beach on Carnival Monday to add a new dimension to the events that will be taking place throughout the weekend of 19th-21st August.  Old favourites including the lantern procession, donkey rides and spectacular fireworks will also be there and in the Grand Parade & Procession, the 2017 Carnival Queen Shannon Strowger and her attendants will be joined by no less than 30 former Carnival Queens who held court from as far back as the 1950s.

This year’s theme of “Amazing Aldeburgh” provides a wide canvas for costumes and tableaux.  A timetable of events, parking advice and entry forms are all in the programmes which will be on sale at local outlets or through aldeburghcarnival.com from the end of June.   The Carnival welcomes anyone and everyone who would like to take part and maybe win a prize, especially floats and tableaux from clubs, groups and businesses.

Music will feature strongly in the 75th and the Silent Auction will be the best ever with some stunning prizes from celebrities and businesses.  Bids can be lodged through this website.  The whole weekend will be your opportunity to enjoy family entertainment, have fun, help good causes and make Aldeburgh more amazing than ever.  Taking part in the 75th will be something to remember!
