Carnival Saturday

There are no parking restrictions in the town, the usual street parking and car parks are available.  However, be aware there is limited parking when the town is busy.  Public transport operates a normal service, but check the information online at the relevant websites.

Carnival Sunday

MARKET CROSS PLACE WILL BE CLOSED TO TRAFFIC

Carnival Day (Monday)

HIGHWAY AUTHORITY NOTICE 

In the interests of road safety, there will be traffic restrictions on carnival day, Monday 18 August. Please work with us by using the Carnival Car Parks. Breaches of parking regulations will result in a fixed penalty fine or prosecution and unlawfully parked vehicles may be towed away.

Alde Lane: Entire Length 

Church Farm Road: Entire length Both Sides 

Crabbe Street (from Market Cross Place to junction with Dial Lane) 

Crag Path (from Market Cross Place north & south to bollards in either direction) 

Crespigny Road   

Dial Lane 

High Street from 11.00 Entire Length 

Hertford Place 

Leiston Road (roundabout to Mariners Way) 

Lee Road Entire Length: Except on East side Park Lane to Hartington Road  

Market Cross Place from 10.00 Entire length 

Oakley Square (Disabled parking only & Cycle Park only – (see below) 

Park Road (Victoria Road to Queens Field and High Street to Lee Road) 

Saxmundham Road (roundabout to Fairfield Road) 

Slaughden Road (junction with High Street to Boatyard)  

Thorpeness Road (junction with Wentworth Road to Haven House on both sides)

Thorpe Road – Evening exit via Thorpeness only. 

CYCLE PARKING – Oakley Square 

SHUTTLE BUS SERVICES from 10am to 2.15pm & 4pm to 6pm

Operates between 10am-2.15pm and 4pm-6pm, from Triangle Wood (near the Library) to Wentworth Road via Victoria Road (returning via Church Farm Road).

Public Transport

First Bus Routes 64 and 65 will terminate at Saxmundham Road/Leiston Road Roundabout.

Border Bus Route 521 will operate temporary stops in Wentworth Road and at the Dolphin Inn, Thorpeness.  Refer to www.traveline.info for more details.
